If you don't, greatswords are better than dual wield damage wise. The thing about dual wield is, the off hand weapon will always do a normal attack, even if you use a skill like sword dance, and your off hand attack stat is halved (except for Erik late game). That one attack from the off hand isn't enough to outdamage greatswords.
