From what I read, the Wolf is the entry level CVA inline, and the Optima is the mid level rifle. The Wolf has a slightly shorter barrel and is a little lighter. What is the functional difference between the Wolf and Optima?accuracy wise, both are equal. The CVA however will do the best out of the group when it comes to shooting conicals. Open sights on the Optima are also another thumbs up. My omega i had to squish my face down on the stock. Still ended up shooting 8" high at 50 yards with the sight bottomed out.

To me the difference in barrel length is a non-issue. For a few years, and many deers, i have been carrying a 23" barrel. It works good. However, in my opinion, the opening/closing latch on the Optima V2 is a way more better than the latch on the Wolf. So far in both my CVA Optima V2 and my son's Wolf we've shot both Harvester crush rib & smooth black sabots, T/C Superglide sabots, Hornady sabots that come with SST hi-speed low drag, and Hornady .44/.50 & .45/.50 sabots. People hype the Bergara branded barrel but they all come out of the same factory in Bergara Spain. The Optima LR is a 28" which is plenty long.The biggest difference between these guns is the noticeable change in rear stocks. The Accura LR offers an ambidextrous thumbhole design and the Vortek StrikerFire offers a standard raised-comb rifle stock. While there can certainly be benefits of each stock design, we have found that it truly comes down to personal preference between the two.
