Mutants in Warfare don't spawn the same way as in Story mode. Warfare assigns a spawn timer to every lair point on each map - a random time between the min/max monster spawn time settings. Then it picks a random type of mutant to spawn from a spawn list. Story mode has very strict spawn definitions for both mutants and stalkers.
