GT7 is effectively GT Sport with most of the aspects missing from mainline GT games added back in, most of which were single-player. There isn't less multiplayer, there just is single-player, and more car customization. GT Sport is basically just Sport mode on the map in GT7. Whether multiplayer good or not is subjective.
