When you get in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear you can give it gas but it will not speed up right away, it will start speeding up slowly and once it gets enough speed it runs fine, or until you change to the next gear. Unplug it and check the wires for power. One should have power. If neither has power with the ignition on then check the fuses. If one does have power then jump it to the other. If the fan comes on, the temp switch is bad. If it doesn't, with the wires still jumped, check for power at the fan.
