As soon as you encounter a meg there's probably a 0.5% chance that it's the shrouded ghost or something like that. Of course I don't have the exact numbers since I'm not a dev but I'm assuming it's something like that. Ive killed 2 megs in the fog. Neither were the ghost. Both times I had been chased by the meg for a bit before the fog and it went away. So only tip I can offer is if you are heading to fog and a meg comes up kill it because im pretty sure that same meg will just keep spawning on you.
