For me Kotor 1 is easily the superior game. It had the classic Star Wars feel (while still telling a new story in a completely different era), the characters were awesome and the twist at the end is one of the best in video game history. This also makes a replay really fun to explore. Kotor 2 isn't really a game about it's plot. There are a couple twists near the end but they're not cool like Kotor 1.
