It violently surges at full throttle. Runs fine at idle and mid-throttle. I have done all I know, and now am stuck. I recently purchased a used 1997 Craftsman GT, 917.258921, with a 25hp Kohler Command Twin, hydrostatic drive, and 50" deck. Kohler engine surging. I took out dad's Gravely from winter storage, sharpened the blade and started cutting grass. It was running smooth, then about 5 minutes in, the rpm started surging. It idles just fine. It surges anywhere above idle. If I hold the throttle on the carb, the engine smooths out and just hums.
