I see just two options. First is make it harder to break a gate or a fence. Like it would take 5 axes to break it through. Or second option is make it unbreakable and set a time scale for disappearing. For example if you won't log in in 14 days, your base disappear.

Fences come in sections, so from the inside, look at the upper or lower wall/frame with the tool to start dismantling there, then the other half, and finally look at the posts to finish the job.

It’s dependent on how you place and not which side you’re standing on when you’re actually building the parts of the fence. But yes, you’d either have to place it from the inside or stand outside and rotate the fence kit before placing it. It only actually lets you build from the inside part of the fence so you’ll know if you messed up.
