You're at a stop in D and the engine has cut off. You move it to L and the engine starts. The gear indicated is 1. While stopped, you shift it to 6 and the transmission stays in 1. As you drive, it shifts normally up to 6, and as you slow it goes all the way back to 1, and as #2 above, the engine no longer cuts off.

To all you guys that have a chevy cruze it's more than likely going to be your turbo is bad and if your changing that you should also do your head gasket as well that was the whole problem with mine the turbo will make your car stall out causing it to die.
