Hey folks, just wanted to share yet another alternative option to paying for the MyQ subscription for Tesla integration. I know others have posted options such as using Home Assistant or HomeLink, which are great options but didn't quite suit my needs, so I wrote an app that did: Tesla-YouQ This app requires using TeslaMate, with the bundled MQTT broker exposed and accessible.

The TLDR; of why I think MyQ is better: I don't have to think about it or futz with the button while backing out. It just opens and closes. From a price perspective it's cheaper than homelink and can transfer with you if you get a new Tesla or add additional cars. I have both HomeLink and MyQ in my MYP. Ideally I'd like for HomeLink to auto CLOSE my garage door and MyQ to auto open it. I dont think that auto combo is possible due to testing. I hate waiting for the beeps to stop before the door closes with MyQ. My problem is when back out the "CLOSE" option that is available by default is the MyQ.Also, unlike my 2 Tesla which uses the same account so I technically only pay 1 subscription fee between my son's model 3 and my Y (Tesla doesn't come with Homelink - standard but does come with MyQ with subscription). If you don't have Homelink on your Honda but have the MyQ app on your phone - it works either way.
