The EX3300 is double the cost of a 2960. I believe the EX3300 has a vastly faster backplane than the 2960, with a consequent better forwarding rate, and it has four 10G uplinks instead of two. It seems to me that the Cisco 4948-10GE is a closer equivalent to the EX3300. If you need the high forwarding rate and faster backplane, get the EX3300.
