I read the forum and replaced everything that I could find that would be causing the issue. My 2.4L is overheating when cruising down the highway at 55+mph. The gauge is normally straight up 210 or just a little more when driving around town in stop and go traffic. I know it's not the gauge because it blows antifreeze out of the overflow tank. I just had the water pump changed with the timing belt a few weeks ago.

Once I added the extra cooler, it has not overheated -despite running offroad in 110 degree temps.

Blend door actuator for sure for the no-heat-in-the-cabin deal, but the engine overheating seems far out for that. maybe a clogged heater core (might impede flow) Im dealing with no heat in cabin right now, except on the highest setting. Likely the actuator, but at only 17,000 miles is frustrating.

I saw this question come up and I don't recall anyone having any real issues with overheating, however if you would rather be sure not to cause a problem one solution is to get an off-road bumper where the winch is recessed. It is very random and I cant pinpoint anything that goes along with it except for the speed is usually in that range. My engine just recently started up the same issue. Smoke coming from the front right portion of the radiator. Almost by my battery. I cannot find any leaks, but the coolant smell is strong. When I first noticed it there was coolant around my fan.While it's still idling high, the temperature would stabilize again back to 1/2. This would repeat every few minutes.
