The Gualandi designation of the 20 ga. wads does not seem to follow the same method as they seem very short. Their 20 ga. designations are 2015, 2021, and 2025 which may indicate the length of either the shotcup or the cushion section. At any rate, there seems to be a "short, medium and long. Longshot is dirtier burning than the other two but it is a slower burning magnum powder. It was my powder of choice for 1 ounce loads or fast 7/8 ounce loads.Unfortunately, the search function isn't well-suited to queries like this. Observing the two wads they are the same overall height and shotcup and cushion heights are also the same. The cushion design is the typical Remington power piston.Loads calling for petals removed. I want to load #4 buck in a 20 g using a load calling for a SP20 with petals removed.Now do I cut down to the end of the slit in the wad or all the way to base of wad? Leave the shot cup, cut to the end of the slits. Such that the equator of the shot is above the remaining petals.The only other way I can think of is if you don't mind a little jury rigging, take a gas seal similar to the SP 20 gas seal cut from another wad & build up the wad column with fiber filler wads & use the shot cup on top. Be careful to use the same type of gas seal as the data you go by. The fiber wad should not significantly change the pressure.
