I'm incredibly new to ZBrush (I downloaded it maybe a week ago?) and I'm still trying to figure it out lol. I've been watching a tutorial on Youtube and I noticed that the edges of their sphere look a lot smoother than mine. I attached a picture below to show what I'm talking about. I got my full license back in the good 'ole days of Pixologic, I stopped paying attention to upgrades after version 2022.0.8 and yet I still discover interesting features every once in a while which are new to me. Hello :D Zbrush is def worth investing time and money into. However it's a very focused program so if you are a complete beginner and wanna try multiple things I'd say go blender for now. For just sculpting, zbrush and blender can give you similar results ; but zbrush offers a lot more tools and gimmicks to get there and it handles heavier ... Zbrush can do everything ZbrushCore can. ZbrushCore has very limited useability in comparison to the full program. As mentioned, for exporting in Zbrush I like to use the 3d Print Hub. (I've never used scalemaster.) Zbrush is a specific software that allow you to sculpt a 3D model, just like you sculpt on clay. You can create 3D models for games with it, but it will have too much polygons, and you will maybe need to retopologise it in another software. To start 3D modelling, I will recommend you to try a most "classic" software like Blender, Maya, 3ds Max ...

A lot of people suggesting Wacom and I completely disagree. You're paying a high price for a brand there. Get a cheap Huion or similar and it will work just as well. I have a Wacom cintiq I love the tablet except when the goddamned drivers go out which will happen. Honestly I don't hardly ever use it for zbrush.

Maxon acquired Forger3D (iPad 3D modeling app), immediately put out a new version of the exact same app with a new name and made is subscription based. Zero new features if I recall correctly. That way big earners pay more than small ones. But no let's just sell, whatever is their software, if Maxon goes the no permanent only update route I'm not using it anymore at least not the new versions. Other software may not have the exact same tools as Zbrush, but if you actually care, you WILL make the compromise to get your work done. If you wont make the compromise, you likely don't really care. Blender is a great option with tons of plugins available.
