Mathews phase 4 vs hoyt vtm.
I like the Mathew’s phase 4 and Hoyt VTM with the Hoyt feeling slightly better. Mostly based on how it felt drawing back. (PSE with Volvo cam felt great, but getting a Fortis was 8 weeks out for EC 2 cam) They didn’t have a VTM in none camo so I shot the RX 7 ultra and liked how it felt, there were some perks compared to the VTM.
Hoyt’s VTM 31, despite being a short hunting bow, has tons of stability. The author loves how the bow aims, and he didn’t even utilize the In-Line System due to the accessories he had available. A manufacturer’s longevity says three things. First, the brand is innovating and staying on top of the times. I was surprised that the longer ata Hoyt draw cycle wasnt as linear as the 30. It had a small dump into the valley similar to the Mathews. The Hoyt 33 also had just a slight buzz in the palm of my hand and it wasnt as quiet as the 30 or the V3X.

If you have a V3X like me, I personally wouldn’t buy a Phase 4. It would be cheaper to add limb dampeners between the limbs or buy an adjustable stab, like the crossover stabs on my V3X. If you don’t have a Phase 4, it is one of the top 2 bows Ive shot this year. The Hoyt VTM 31 and Phase 4 29 are still the top of the class in my opinion.
