I don't like the push buttons for a couple reasons: 1) I saw in Topgear one of the hosts was able to steal one of the other hosts cars w/ a button start. They were at a restaurant then one them snuck outside and reparked the car in the middle of the street. 2) It is cheap to make a duplicate key. 3) Just weird. 4) Cost more.

Then, with this extra metal right next to the ignition key, the key is quickly turned. The metal near the key and the key being turned quickly cause interference in the immobilizer signal, and the car doesn't start.
