Directions: Fallen Leaf Lake Campground is located on the south side of Lake Tahoe, approximately three miles north of the "Y" (the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 89) in South Lake Tahoe. The sites are large and the lake is pristine. Unfortunately, the "rangers", camp hosts and staff seemed only interested in the camp rules and regulations, with no regard to whether or not these "rules" make camping possible. The campground is available by reservations only. Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
