From what others have said, some of the animals hit very hard. One guy had a video of killing red mother in 90 seconds with a greater sabertooth. The general feeling I get is zombies are the best. They run, hit hard, have high HP, and you can have 3-4 following you. They last approximately 2 real life days on official settings.
